History

Joseph Singer started his apparel business in 1934 sewing leather police uniforms. At the time Philadelphia was home to hundreds of apparel factory workers, many of them immigrants who had recently entered Philadelphia through the ports of the city to start new lives in the United States. Executive Apparel evolved into a suiting supplier as uniform trends changed. In the early 1950s sons Richard and Charlie Singer took over the business and further refined the business model while many popular suiting manufacturers like Botany 500, After Six and Stanley Blacker made suits in the same neighborhood.

Donald and Robert Singer learned about the custom apparel business from their father Richard and took over as partners in 1985. For the next 15 years the two worked together to grow Executive Apparel as uniform manufacturers and sell to buyers throughout the country. In 2000 Richard left to pursue other interests leaving Donald Singer as the CEO. With twelve popular brands, thousands of styles and accounts all over the world, Executive Apparel has come a long way since 1934. Donald Singer, with plenty of industry history to draw on, is never at a loss for ideas about this interesting business and has his sights set firmly on the future
